About the role

  • Lead Services Procurement and Stock Control functions, overseeing full procurement cycle and stock operations.
  • Manage and develop a team of 7 (3 Buyers, 1 Operational Buyer, and 3 Warehouse staff) to ensure high performance and collaboration.
  • Own supplier strategy, supplier selection, tendering, and contract negotiation to secure commercial and service outcomes.
  • Drive category management strategies and monitor market trends to inform decisions and create long-term value.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships to meet quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability goals; lead supplier performance reviews and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external procurement policies.
  • Establish and oversee stock and warehouse management processes.
  • Act as key lead for SAP implementation as an MRP system and support strategic projects to improve efficiency, cost control, resilience, and risk management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain or category management.
  • Strong background in sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • Demonstrable success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience using market intelligence to create budgets and influence category strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with stock control and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of working with SAP and/or MRP systems.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability, and project management skills.
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) membership or relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience of sustainable and ethical sourcing.
  • Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate at all levels.
