About the role

  • Champion the Employee Experience – Design and support programs that promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging employee journey across all stages of the employee lifecycle, embodying Plotly’s values.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding Excellence – Oversee end-to-end onboarding and offboarding logistics (equipment, access, HRIS updates) in collaboration with IT and DevOps, ensuring a smooth and compliant transition for every employee.
  • Benefits Administration – Manage employee benefits across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K., ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely communication.
  • HR Partner & Coach – Serve as a trusted partner to managers, providing guidance on performance management, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Project Leadership – Lead HR-related initiatives from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with company goals and effective change management.
  • HRIS Administration – Act as the primary administrator of Plotly’s HRIS (e.g., Rippling), maintaining data accuracy, permissions, and compliance.
  • Compliance & Data Privacy – Ensure adherence to employment laws, data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA), and company policies across all regions.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management – Maintain and update People Operations processes, Confluence pages, and internal policies.
  • Analytics & Reporting – Track and report on key HR metrics and KPIs, providing insights to leadership for data-driven decision-making.
  • Administrative Support – Maintain organizational charts, employee records, and internal documentation.
  • Internal Communications – Oversee internal communications such as company newsletters, engagement updates, and employee spotlights that reflect Plotly’s culture and achievements.
  • Engagement & Culture Initiatives – Organize and coordinate team-building activities, Lunch & Learns, and recognition events to foster connection and inclusion.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations, ideally within a fast-growing or global organization
  • A growth mindset and a proven ability to design, refine, and execute people programs and processes efficiently
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment laws, with exposure to international HR practices.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Rippling or similar)
  • Proficiency in data analysis and HR reporting, including metrics such as turnover, engagement, and retention.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and foster positive relationships across teams and levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and business needs
  • Self-starter who exercises sound judgment, solves complex issues independently, and drives projects to completion.
  • High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
