About the role

  • Maintain and control the general ledger reflecting the financial position of the company
  • Ensure accounting activities comply with legal, regulatory and company policies
  • Direct and review revenue & overheads accounting staff
  • Verify revenues and expenses related to maritime freight
  • Review freight charges with Bill of Lading
  • Prepare and issue invoices for operational costs
  • Manage accounts receivable and resolve invoice disputes
  • Maintain financial records and reconcile bank accounts
  • Ensure compliance with maritime industry regulations
  • Present economic performance reports and analyze profitability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration or a related major desired but not required
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a similar position/industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required in English
  • Bilingual, fluent in English & Spanish preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook
