As a Junior Technical Artist (m/f/d) you will produce particles, shaders and other visual effects for our games in Godot and Unity.
Acting as a bridge between game art and programming, you will ensure a smooth development process from concept to finished feature.
Additionally, you will convert image data and prepare it for programming.
You will implement 3D assets and animations into the game engine.
With your technical feedback you will support the game art team in creating performant assets.
You will optimize textures and be responsible for ensuring game stability through memory and performance optimization.
Developing tools and scripts to streamline the game engine workflow is also part of your varied responsibilities.
You will ensure high-quality gameplay and a smooth user experience throughout the development process.
In close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Game Development, Game Art, Game Design and Sound, you will align technical and creative requirements.
Requirements
Completed degree in Media Informatics, Game Design or a comparable education/qualification
Basic knowledge of the programming languages C# and GD-Script
Ideally, first experience in game development with a game engine such as Unity or Godot
Knowledge of shader programming is an advantage
Experience with Blender or comparable tools is desirable
Strong communication skills in German and English
Team player with a solution-oriented work style
