Responsibilities
As a Real-Time VFX artist, you will be working both independently and collaboratively with the development team to make the best-looking VFX.
The Effects Artist is expected to concept/design effects either in 2D or 3D to convey the design/motion and overall idea to their leads.
You will collaborate with our Creative/Art Director in developing visually stunning VFX that enhances our projects' artistic vision.
You will create stylistically consistent and impactful VFX assets using particles, geometry, animation, and materials, while ensuring efficiency and adherence to technical budgets.
Strong communication skills are essential, as you will regularly update the Creative/Art Director and Producer on project milestones and seek guidance when necessary.
In this role, you will work closely with fellow artists and engineers to optimize the art pipeline and establish technical benchmarks, fostering a collaborative environment.
Staying current with industry-standard tools and techniques is vital to your personal and professional development.
Requirements
Hands-on experience with game engines (UE4, Unity3D, etc.)
Production-ready 3D software and plug-in (Maya, 3Ds Max, Blender, etc.)
Knowledge of how to optimize for video game hardware
Production-ready Adobe Photoshop and/or After Effects or Substance Designer
Every VFX Artist must also demonstrate at least 1 additional competency at Production-ready proficiency, or 2 additional competencies at beginner-level: Programming/scripting experience "Blueprint, Python etc., Knowledge of Lighting and Post process Substance Painter ZBrush / Sculpting workflow Additional Art Styles for VFX "Realistic / Stylized" FumeFX / EmberGen Houdini "Simulation, Automation, Procedural Workflow" Blender Geometry Nodes "Simulation, procedural Workflow" Unreal Engine Rendering (Lighting, Rendering)
