Lead on the day-to-day caseload of information requests received under the Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulations, in compliance with statutory timeframes
Assist in the recording and housekeeping of all correspondence, including FOI requests logged on the Salesforce CRM system
Provide support in updating and maintaining EWR Co’s Publication Scheme
Clarify, analyse and interpret information requests and correspondence enquiries; draft responses as necessary
Work closely with the Correspondence Manager to seek reviews and approvals for drafts
Provide specialist advice to colleagues dealing with requests under FOIA and EIR, including exemption and exception advice
Assist with preparation of information for release under access to information legislation, ensuring accurate and good quality information
Keep abreast of developments in information access; receive training and disseminate information
Work with correspondence executives to maintain a list of subject matter experts and store information for regular requests
Support the Head of External Engagement and act as a trusted advisor and critical friend to the EWR Co Board, Management Team and business
Demonstrate a cost-conscious mindset and a commitment to innovation
Act as a role model for EWR Co’s vision and behaviours and adhere to Health and Safety principles
Requirements
Extensive experience in handling and responding to requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
Theoretical and practical understanding of the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations
Proven ability to redact documents and prepare disclosure schedules for proposed disclosures
Excellent analytical skills, including understanding of modelling and forecasting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distil complex technical material
Ability to manage and prioritise work in response to competing demands
Able to foster positive relationships with colleagues across the organisation
Able to work unsupervised and as a team player; use initiative
Discreet and able to maintain confidentiality
A relevant qualification in Information or Records Management at degree level or equivalent professional experience
