About the role
- Software Engineer developing and integrating technology solutions to optimize client operations within manufacturing. Collaborating with production and engineering departments for system efficiency and performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate and optimize technological solutions aimed at improving clients' operations
- Work closely with production, maintenance and engineering departments
- Serve as an analyst and technical advisor to clients
- Design, develop and deploy software and system solutions
- Participate in the integration of industrial systems at client sites
- Keep up with emerging technologies and recommend continuous improvements
- Apply best practices for security, performance and software quality
- Train users, write technical documentation and provide post-commissioning support
- Contribute to the preparation of service offerings and technical proposals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or an equivalent professional association — a strong asset
- 3 to 5 years of experience in software development, ideally gained in an engineering consultancy or professional services environment
- Good knowledge of industrial environments and systems such as ERP, MES, SCADA, automation, industrial IoT (IIoT)
- Proficiency in common programming languages (Python, C#, JavaScript)
- Understanding of industrial data exchange protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS — an asset
