About the role

  • Lead and oversee TPS projects across Germany, with a focus on the installation of DC and AC converter/inverter systems in substations.
  • Ensure that project execution meets technical, financial and schedule targets while complying with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Meet customer expectations in terms of quality, functionality, schedule and cost within available resources and budget constraints.
  • Take overall responsibility for the full lifecycle of TPS projects in Germany, from planning through commissioning.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement and site operations.
  • Award and manage subcontracted services.
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications for DC and AC substations and that these meet customer requirements from the scope of work.
  • Oversee and provide technical and organizational leadership for DC systems within the Sécheron Group, from planning to on-site commissioning.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, subcontractors and risk management measures.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients, authorities and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Responsible for scheduling, cost estimation, project controlling and reporting to divisional management.
  • Manage customer issues, claims and changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project execution and team performance with the goal of reducing execution risk and increasing margin.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects in infrastructure or substations, and willingness to assume overall project leadership for major projects.
  • Solid knowledge of DC and AC systems, ideally in the railway or industrial sector.
  • Experience as a project manager in plant construction and in executing customer projects.
  • Experience leading project teams, contract management, claim management and billing procedures.
  • Experience in professional and timely coordination of project phases including bidding, project planning, procurement, execution, commissioning and acceptance.
  • Excellent communication and commercial skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • Experience interacting with grid operators, municipal utilities or railway power systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (VOB, HOAI and VDE) is an advantage.
  • Fluent in German (native) and English.
