About the role

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Financial Lines division, ensuring alignment with QBE’s objectives
  • Lead a team of underwriters and specialists, fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth
  • Drive profitable growth by identifying new business opportunities and optimising the existing portfolio and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and industry partners to enhance market presence
  • Oversee underwriting guidelines, risk assessment, and pricing strategies to ensure sustainable profitability
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to keep the company ahead of market developments
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including actuarial, claims, and legal teams, to optimise product offerings and risk management
  • Lead, adjust to and plan for financial performance, understanding P&L and Balance Sheets, and ensuring financial targets are managed and led

Requirements

  • Proven track record in Financial Lines insurance, with substantial underwriting, broking, or risk management experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Deep understanding of financial lines products, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and business growth
