About the role

  • Analyse financial performance across individuals and practice groups, including billing, WIP, recovery rates, and profitability.
  • Prepare and present clear, insightful reports for solicitors, team leaders, and senior management.
  • Deliver one-to-one coaching and group training on billing, pricing, and financial best practices.
  • Monitor at-risk WIP and collaborate with teams to reduce lock-up days and prevent write-offs.
  • Partner with Marketing and fee earners on pricing for client pitches and profitability reviews.
  • Support strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and financial awareness across the firm.

Requirements

  • Strong background in financial analysis, ideally within legal or professional services.
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
  • Proven ability to coach and influence professionals at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial data clearly.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to performance improvement.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.
