About the role
- Financial Analyst responsible for preparing financial statements and supporting analyses. Collaborating with finance teams to ensure GAAP compliance and assist in special projects.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing monthly and annual financial statements, supporting analysis and supplemental schedules
- Assists in implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles on all financial statements
- Supports the Senior Financial Analysts and Finance Management Team in preparing for special projects
- Acts as a Finance representative on committees and at meetings as necessary
- Assists with preparing the Hospital and or related entity of Virtua Health Financial Statements with GAAP compliance
- Prepares and assists in the analysis of financial data
- Assists in preparing and analyzing financial data for Regulatory Agencies including Federal and State
- Assists in ensuring audit compliance through preparation of work papers and analysis for internal and external auditors
- Provides financial analysis assistance to Managers in order for them to adequately monitor operating expenses
- Collaborates with staff to create best practice standards for financial analysis and documentation
Requirements
- Zero to three years in general accounting experience to include financial statement preparation
- Must possess knowledge and understanding of accounting practice and theory, specifically Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Ability to work independently to achieve goals and prioritize work assignments
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Must have a working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field and CPA / MBA preferred
