About the role

  • Work closely with senior management teams providing strategic insight, analysis and advice enabling the delivery of sustainable financial forecasting and performance.
  • Advocate and support consistent application of finance policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent with a relevant professional financial/accounting qualification (e.g. ICAS, ICAEW, CIMA or CIPFA)
  • A proven record of accomplishment in managing relevant financial and administrative tasks, preferably some in an HE environment.
  • Experience of leading and managing significant projects and budgets.
  • Experience of providing analysis and strategic advice to senior managers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, proven ability to explain complex finance concepts and the implication of financial decisions to non-specialists, excellent analytical skills and admirable IT skills (in particular, design and use of complex spreadsheets).
  • Superb interpersonal, people management and time management skills, with proven ability to influence others to achieve aims and evidence of successfully developing own team.
