About the role

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and shape, advance, and execute the enterprise strategic vision for long-term growth and market leadership
  • Drive innovation, joint ventures, partnerships, investments, and thematic analyses across service lines and other assigned strategic priorities
  • Evaluate market trends and the competitive landscape to identify new business opportunities and lead initiatives to enhance organizational performance and competitive positioning
  • Work closely with service line Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Accounting, Legal, Tax, HR, IT, Digital)
  • Support business case development and diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and joint ventures and ensure seamless deal execution and value-creation capture
  • Support diligence on strategic equity investment opportunities and manage a sub-portfolio of investments/partnerships/innovation initiatives from origination to implementation
  • Support the annual strategic planning process and the ongoing operations for Memorial Hermann’s Innovation Hub, shepherding Innovation Hub projects from identification to deployment
  • Track and report competitive intelligence and emerging industry/market trends (including disruptive technologies, business models, and partnerships) to senior executives
  • Support development of Strategic Investment Committee presentations and materials; lead special projects and requests from senior executives
  • Serve as problem-solving partner with key stakeholders and senior executives on critical strategic questions
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors and adhere to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards; promote professional growth and model Memorial Hermann’s service standards

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree is required; Masters of Business Administration or Masters of Health Administration preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field; experience at a top-tier management consulting firm preferred
  • Strategic thinker with ability to identify new investment, partnership, and innovation opportunities that are aligned with key strategic priorities / goals and have potential to be value accretive for the system
  • Demonstrated track record of establishing effective cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels in a highly collaborative environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to structure and deliver presentations clearly, crisply, and compellingly while championing recommendations and influencing decisions with key stakeholders
  • Results-oriented and highly accountable individual who thrives in fast-paced, demanding working environments, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism and data integrity
  • Proficient in multi-tasking, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently
  • Continual improvement - always looking for ways to improve both individually and organizationally
  • Advanced proficiency in analytical and statistical tools to analyze and interpret data including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
