About the role

  • Develop our user acquisition strategies and day-to-day operations to meet and exceed specific weekly/monthly/quarterly targets for advertising ROI and user quality.
  • Adopt a structured, data-driven approach to experimentation and optimization across existing and new media sources.
  • Lead a team of user acquisition managers to achieve expected performance and scale.
  • Provide the leadership and governance necessary to help the team execute tactically and ensure they receive appropriate mentorship, training, and professional development.
  • Manage the functional P&L, including media budgets, tools, headcount, and creative, as well as forecasting and resource planning.
  • Work closely with our product and LiveOps teams to enable cross-functional initiatives that maximize customer lifetime value, app growth, and return on ad spend.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Business Analytics and data teams to prioritize and direct analytic support for performance measurement, forecasting and planning, and automation to maximize UA’s contribution to the business.
  • Provide critical analysis and insights on operational performance, and report regularly to the Chief Marketing Officer and other executive stakeholders, including our board of directors.
  • Maintain key relationships with media partners to maximize the value of those partnerships, including escalations, beta programs, and other collaborative methods that improve campaign performance.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership on the latest user acquisition trends, changes in market dynamics, and emerging platforms.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in performance marketing, with deep expertise in mobile app user acquisition.
  • Proven experience managing monthly budgets of multiple millions of dollars to profitably scale a mobile app, meet and exceed targets, and optimize performance through rigorous A/B and MVT testing, incrementality testing, creative testing, and other experiments and optimizations.
  • Thought leadership in mobile marketing, user acquisition, and performance marketing best practices.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions, leveraging performance insights and understanding downstream or cross-functional impacts across the business.
  • Creative, collaborative, analytical, and growth-oriented mindset, able to solve problems with agility within user acquisition and cross-functional contexts.
  • Expertise in people management, mentoring, and training of junior and senior marketers.
  • Close relationships with most major ad networks, SDK networks, DSPs, and other key media partners (e.g., Google, Meta, TikTok, AppLovin, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a strong ability to tell stories from data.
  • Energetic and passionate about growth and impact, as well as user acquisition and performance marketing.
  • Data-driven, with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of how to ask the right questions and guide analytics teams to deliver answers.
  • Personable, with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Motivated to work with teams at a global scale.
