About the role

  • Report to the Managing Partner and Business Development Director and work closely with leadership to build and execute Delta40’s strategy
  • Prepare materials for investor updates and communications and support investor relations
  • Conduct primary and secondary research and provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform strategic decisions
  • Scope and execute strategic initiatives and projects end-to-end, including project planning, budgeting, coordination and retrospectives
  • Advance key partnerships, support business development and assist in raising capital and external communications
  • Support portfolio companies in the field and contribute to thought leadership and venture studio materials
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with organisational goals
  • Provide high-level administrative support including calendar management, meeting preparation, correspondence, presentations and confidential handling
  • Based in Delta40 office in Nairobi with some domestic and pan-African travel as required

Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion for Delta40’s mission to build high impact, commercially scalable ventures in Energy, Agriculture and Mobility in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Leadership experience in a professional, educational or community setting
  • 2-3+ years of management consulting experience preferred, or start-up, business research, business analysis, project management experience
  • Strong professional verbal, written, visual communication and presentation skills
  • Experience analysing qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategy and decision making
  • Exceptional proposal development and deck-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a strong team culture and build and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Comfortable self-managing multiple priorities and partners concurrently and thriving in change and uncertainty
  • Highly adaptable and dynamic with ability to take on and own new initiatives
  • Positive, encouraging, collaborative attitude
  • Strong references and demonstration of high performance and reliability
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Legal authorization to work in Kenya preferred
  • Some domestic and pan-African travel may be required
  • Desired: Experience in the energy, agriculture or mobility sectors
  • Desired: Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment in Africa
