About the role

  • **Key responsibilities **
  • General duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Effectively manage an individual caseload, and delegate to and provide supervision to more junior members of the team as required.
  • Foster relationships with existing and new clients. Ensure that all clients receive an excellent service.
  • Work in a collegiate and collaborative way within an immediate Team and wider Firm environment.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively both internally to colleagues and externally to clients.
  • Continuing your professional development and staying updated with legal developments in the field
  • To carry out your work for both colleagues and clients to the highest possible standard, having regard to the Firm’s standards, procedures and core values.
  • Work with the Business Development & Marketing Team in order to develop the Firm’s reputation and client base.
  • Feed into the budget process annually, and take responsibility for the financial performance of the Construction team.

Requirements

  • **Essential **
  • An experienced Solicitor or Barrister working and with a good level of experience in non-contentious and contentious construction matters.
  • Experienced effective manager / supervisor.
  • The ideal candidate will have the potential to market the firm and should have a strong interest in business development. Typical business development opportunities would include, but are not limited to: attending seminars and networking events, presenting workshops to the firm's clients and being involved in pitches/tenders.
  • The candidate should be able to evidence diversity and experience in the construction and infrastructure sector.
  • A strong commitment to career development and further learning.
  • **Desirable**
  • Experience working within the Education, Charity and Public Sectors funding arena would be advantageous.
  • The ideal candidate will be dual qualified in both law and construction, holding senior membership of a chartered professional institution, MRICS, MCIOB or similar.
  • Specialist qualifications in Alternative Dispute Resolution, particularly arbitration and adjudication, and membership of the Charted Institute of Arbitrators would be advantageous.
