About the role
- Report to the Manager, Accounting with primary responsibility of ensuring timely accurate closing of the corporate accounting records
- General ledger recording within Finance department
- Prepare and record monthly revenue journal entries in compliance with ASC 606 and company policies
- Ensure proper recognition of product, service, and subscription revenues, including deferred revenue
- Review customer contracts and assess revenue impact based on accounting guidance
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities related to revenue
- Reconcile revenue-related accounts (deferred revenue, accounts receivable, unbilled revenue)
- Prepare revenue-related schedules, flux analyses, and supporting documentation for financial statements
- Support external and internal audit requests by providing revenue schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Maintain compliance with SOX/internal controls related to revenue processes and ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies
- Partner with Sales, Billing, and FP&A teams to resolve revenue-related issues and review customer invoices for billing accuracy
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline revenue recognition and reporting
- Assist in system enhancements related to revenue and billing and support special projects (new product launches, system implementations, revenue forecasting)
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports to management as needed
Requirements
- Must possess strong work ethic, communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated, can multi-task, and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Comprehension of GAAP especially as it relates to ASC 606 and contract revenues
- Detail oriented with excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with varying levels of employees
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 2-5 years’ work-related experience in a relevant position
- Strong computer skills: Proficient Excel skills and other Microsoft Office products
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to commute to in office location in India on an occasional basis
- Preferred: Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and PowerBI
