Student Accounting Manager overseeing financial operations for 16,000 students and managing a customer-centric team. Ensuring operational efficiency and compliance while enhancing internal controls.
Responsibilities
Management of operational procedures, processes and applications to support Student Accounting activities
Troubleshoot issues to resolution
Identify efficiencies and work with director on implementation
Recognize potential risks and ensure strong internal controls are maintained
Facilitate and implement systems development and enhancements
Manage student financial activity via Workday to 16,000 students
Manage payments: online, credit cards, 529 Plans, wires, checks, etc.
Oversee Student Installment Payment Plans (1,600 per academic period)
Manage daily student refunds
Manage student accounts receivables ($600M+), related soft collections
Prepare, review and approve journals and account reconciliations
Compile and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Develop, implement and maintain policies and standard operating procedures to support best practices and a strong internal control environment
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Relevant Experience (5 Years)
No specific certification/professional license required
Preferred: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
Preferred: Master's degree
Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Missouri Division of Professional Registration
