About the role

  • Project Manager overseeing planning, execution, and completion of technology projects at Waste Management. Responsible for project success and team leadership in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of small to medium-sized Technology projects.
  • Owns and leads a diverse set of technology resources for project duration.
  • Communicates project status to Senior and Executive Technology Leadership.
  • Drives all project activities through the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Assembles project teams, assigns individual responsibilities, develops project schedules and determines and acquires resources needed.
  • Communicates the business case to project team for decision making and prioritization.
  • Acts as liaison between technology/business stakeholders and Senior Leadership on project status, issues, and risks.
  • Creates and maintains project plans and ensures effective financial forecasting and tracking.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or similar area of study or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Four (4) years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement). Three (3) years of project management experience also required.
  • Preferred Experience: Bachelor's Degree and at least ten (10) years of project management experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge or skills in managing multiple projects, in various stages of the SDLC, at one time.
  • Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology (specifically in Guide Five and Nine, Waterfall).
  • Agile Project Management methodologies.
  • Leading infrastructure-related projects such as network upgrades, hardware procurement, and core Technology application deployments.
  • Aiding in definition of systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions.
  • Presenting, communicating and articulating effectively to all levels of the organization including technical and non-technical audiences.
