About the role
- GIS Analyst I creating and maintaining GIS data and maps supporting infrastructure projects. Transforming data into tools that ensure community safety and resilience.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain GIS data, maps, ArcGIS Online web maps, and reports
- Edit water, sewer, and stormwater data from plans, drawings, and field collection
- Collaborate with engineers and senior GIS staff to meet project deadlines
- Follow GIS workflows, standards, and best practices
- Perform quality control checks and support database maintenance
- Continuously learn new GIS skills and processes
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in the field of GIS
- Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related tools)
- BA, BS, or AAS in GIS, Geography, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of GIS-related software, GIS principles, products, and services
- Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet established deadlines, and follow up on assignments with little direction
- Ability to work with large relational databases
- Experience with working within a Spatial Database Engine (SDE) is a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities
- Knowledge and understanding of land surveying data collection methods and software
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Preferred: ESRI Certification
- Preferred: GISP Certification
- Preferred: Strong problem-solving skills
- Preferred: ArcGIS Pro Software experience
- Preferred: ESRI LGIM and Utility Network experience
- Preferred: Lead Service Line Inventory experience
- Preferred: GIS Application Experience to include Model Builder, Web App Builder, basic Python, Experience Builder, Field Maps, or Survey 123 within the ArcGIS Online Platform
