Insight Manager managing quantitative, qualitative, and community research projects with minimal direction from seniors. Collaborating across departments and presenting insights to clients.
Responsibilities
The Insight Manager is the project owner for several smaller tactical projects which are taking place simultaneously, with little direction from seniors.
Play a supporting role on larger strategic projects.
The Insight Manager cross-department relationships are an example to junior consultants.
Lead on deciding the best approach and ideas for capturing the data needed.
Can design most types of Activities with only light direction from seniors.
A confident moderator.
Capable of going beyond taking what people say at face value, laddering to understand the unspoken and emotion, which sit deeper.
Able to evaluate the status of survey fieldwork and make decisions facilitating fieldwork progress (e.g., regarding modification of quotas).
Able to analyze any Activity data.
Take the lead in designing an analysis plan, which is used to brief others (e.g., PST, external moderator, etc.). For more complex projects, the Insight Manager can do this with only light direction from seniors.
Create reports that are commercially savvy, which include growing experience with the client / category / sector.
Outputs are client ready (including conclusions and recommendations) before getting final input from seniors.
Ensure that relevant insights from other sources (e.g., Culture and Trends, client data) are brought in at key points in the process to add value.
Can interpret a client's information needs and are able to translate them into overall project design and deciding on the right Activities and Solutions to use. For complex projects, do this with the support from seniors.
Able to spot opportunities to incorporate solutions beyond primary research (e.g., Culture Trends, crowdsourcing through eÿeka, etc.).
Regularly give presentations to clients, with support from seniors.
Involved in the preparation of client workshops / brainstorms and attend in a supportive role.
An independent client handler.
Can build good working relationships with clients and have learnt to flex style as needed.
Attentive to their needs, whilst balancing the commercial needs of the business and maintaining good relationships internally.
Involved in the presenting of NTMY meetings with clients.
Build the client network outside of the insight team.
A master of every client’s sector (e.g., what their key business topics and KPIs are).
Share internal content with own network (in a targeted and personalized way) and support the account with this too.
Can create contents (e.g., blogposts, client case studies etc.).
Aware of commercial skillset and how can they complement other assets in the team.
Experienced with the customer relationship platforms needed to manage the accounts (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365).
Understand our unique selling arguments of the tools / methods / solutions we offer and how we position vs. competitors.
Committed to the principle of a client facing target, beyond project interactions.
Business financial acumen continues to grow and take ownership of the contribution to the financials on a project.
Involved in the brainstorming for and (co-)writing of proposals for simple projects.
Actively participate in smaller / simple sales pitches.
Proactively looking to support the (Sr) Business Director, to gain experience in reaching out to new clients.
Support the development of junior consultants through on-the-job coaching.
Share experiences and best practice tips (e.g., how they can manage their time / projects).
Follow up on experiences and training to drive higher performance.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., social science, psychology, business, or economics).
At least 5 years of professional research experience.
