About the role

  • Outside Sales Representative for PVI, selling B2B plumbing and HVAC products. Building customer relationships and managing sales in NYC and surrounding areas with a focus on business development.

Responsibilities

  • Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and negotiate sales
  • Perform Inside and Outside sales activities to acquire new customers as well as project-based work for current customers
  • Build and maintain customer relationships and be point of contact for current and potential customers
  • Demonstrate products to Engineers, Contractors and Wholesalers by way of samples, catalogues and PDH Approved Lunch and Learns
  • Develop relationships with Facility Managers, Building & Business Owners, and other buyers using a consultative sales approach
  • Prepare marketing and sales reports and implement marketing projects
  • Attend trade shows and industry events as required to represent our products in the marketplace
  • Comfortable facilitating or leading training sessions for groups of 15 to 20 attendees.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Sr. Manager NY Sales or Company management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, and/or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or 4 plus years of equivalent work experience.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and close sales and proven business development skills and demeanor.
  • Experience working in the Plumbing and HVAC Industry
  • Technically oriented individual.
  • Must possess strong computer software skills (familiarity with social media, email, CRM, spreadsheets, and document programs).
  • Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, prioritize and close multiple sales leads.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish mutually beneficial commitments and expectations with customers, internally and externally.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who can handle workload and take initiative.
