About the role

  • Head of Payroll managing payroll responsibilities with a focus on team leadership and compliance in Germany. Driving process optimization and ensuring adherence to legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Take the helm of our payroll operations!
  • Lead the payroll department and take full responsibility for timely payroll processing
  • Team leadership & development: You will lead and motivate your payroll team
  • Process optimization: You will analyze existing payroll processes and drive digitalization
  • Compliance & quality: You will ensure compliance with all legal requirements in payroll tax and social security law as well as internal policies
  • Interface management: You will be the central contact for executive management, auditors, tax inspectors, authorities and health insurance providers
  • Reporting: Preparing HR metrics, statistics and budgets is also part of your responsibilities

Requirements

  • A degree in business administration (focus on HR/Finance) or a commercial apprenticeship with further qualification as a certified HR specialist (Personalfachkaufmann)
  • Several years of solid professional experience in payroll, ideally with (initial) leadership experience or as a senior/team lead in a complex environment
  • In-depth user knowledge of SAP HR/R3 and SAP S/4 HANA is essential for this key position
  • Excellent expertise in employment law, payroll tax and social security legislation
  • Confident demeanor, strong decision-making skills and a structured, solution-oriented way of working
