About the role
- Working Student in UX Research & Prototyping at CARIAD. Supporting the team in user research, usability tests, and prototyping for Volkswagen Group's mobility services.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a team of designers, researchers, and developers to conduct user studies and identify user needs for various mobility-related products
- Prepare usability tests and conduct them on different frontends — including the in-vehicle infotainment system
- Clearly visualize findings and lead workshops to integrate research insights into our products
- Organize user testing events for various product teams in collaboration with external service providers
- Support the team in developing and implementing prototypes (digital and physical)
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Communication Studies, Media Studies, Computer Science, or a comparable field
- Passion for UX and digital products, with a strong interest in various UX research and prototyping methods
- Independent, well-organized working style and practical hands-on skills
- Strong interviewing and communication skills, ideally supported by initial practical experience conducting interviews; you have experience analyzing and visualizing data, e.g., with R, SPSS, Excel, or Tableau
- Initial experience in visual design with Figma, creating videos with After Effects, Media Encoder, or other editing tools, and in creating/editing audio
- Ideally experience with visual programming (e.g., Node-RED, Pure Data, vvvv, etc.) or web technologies (JavaScript, Angular, etc.), as well as physical computing (Arduino, ESP32, soldering, etc.)
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
