About the role
- Engineering Specifications Consultant providing technical expertise to MEP firms and Design/Build contractors in Washington, DC by building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise to MEP firms, Design/Build contractors and other specifiers
- Builds and maintains long-term relationships with MEP engineers, architects, general contractors, EPCs, builders, and manufacturing accounts
- Executes account strategies as directed by management
- Delivers professional presentations to key stakeholders
- Collaborates closely with external customers and partners, as well as internal sales and product engineering teams
- Partners with cross-functional teams to revise existing specifications
- Drives demand for company products by initiating new customer engagements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil engineering (or related field), or applicable licensure (CPD, GPD, etc.) required (May consider 10+ years of professional experience in piping design and/or installation in lieu of this requirement)
- 3-5 industry experience required
- Current and valid Driver License required
- Detailed knowledge of codes and standards
- Understanding of specifications and how they are developed and utilized within assigned industries
- Proficient in the use of common office equipment and software – including: computers, printers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
- Experienced in the use of CRM tools and their application in sales environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Detailed organizational skills
