About the role
- Employment & Training Specialist 2 at Viability assisting individuals with disabilities in securing employment. Developing training programs and community employer relationships in Holyoke, MA.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in building relationships with corporate partners who are passionate about hiring people with disabilities in their industries.
- Work with community employers to create and implement successful training programs to ensure rewarding, long-term employment for the individuals who are hired.
- Assist members in orientation, training, and learning the skills needed to secure and maintain employment.
- Provide access to an array of employment, job training and educational opportunities.
- Implement employment plans designed to maximize worker progress and assurance of jobs being completed to specifications.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree with one year of experience providing employment services to individuals with developmental disabilities or other employment barriers; or an Associate’s degree with two years of related experience; or a High School diploma, GED, or HiSET with three years of relevant experience.
- Ability to use computers to include Microsoft Word, data entry, email, and internet essential.
- Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, use of vehicle and willingness to transport participants in personal vehicle.
- Must be able to travel within the region to access residential settings, employers, offices, and community organizations.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred, but not required.
