• Division Director overseeing Pediatric Hospital Medicine at University of Alberta. Leading clinical service, academic pursuits, and partnerships with healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to advance the division’s academic clinical innovation, research, and educational missions, including close collaboration with the Clinical Section Lead to support excellence in patient care.
• Work closely with teaching faculty and education leads to foster a strong, supportive learning environment for Undergraduate and Postgraduate medical learners. Provide mentorship and support for faculty, involvement in teaching, and ongoing professional development.
• Advance the division’s research portfolio, including facilitating funding opportunities, promoting academic productivity, and supporting faculty in achieving high-impact publications. Maintain an active, independent research program that contributes to the division’s academic strength.
• Build partnerships within the university, healthcare system, and broader hospital medicine community to strengthen the division’s academic and clinical impact.

Requirements

• MD degree (or equivalent)
• Completed residency training in Pediatrics
• Substantial clinical experience caring for Pediatric patients in a busy tertiary care inpatient setting as an attending physician
• Certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent
• Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
• Advanced research or educational training (i.e. MSc, MEd, or PhD) considered an asset
