Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership to advance the division’s academic clinical innovation, research, and educational missions, including close collaboration with the Clinical Section Lead to support excellence in patient care.
Work closely with teaching faculty and education leads to foster a strong, supportive learning environment for Undergraduate and Postgraduate medical learners. Provide mentorship and support for faculty, involvement in teaching, and ongoing professional development.
Advance the division’s research portfolio, including facilitating funding opportunities, promoting academic productivity, and supporting faculty in achieving high-impact publications. Maintain an active, independent research program that contributes to the division’s academic strength.
Build partnerships within the university, healthcare system, and broader hospital medicine community to strengthen the division’s academic and clinical impact.
Requirements
MD degree (or equivalent)
Completed residency training in Pediatrics
Substantial clinical experience caring for Pediatric patients in a busy tertiary care inpatient setting as an attending physician
Certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent
Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
Advanced research or educational training (i.e. MSc, MEd, or PhD) considered an asset
