About the role
- Senior Manager overseeing Business & Technology Portfolio Enablement at UMB, aligning IT Strategy with Business Strategy across the enterprise. Driving project delivery excellence by managing resources and strategic governance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and care for both arms of the direct team and liaise across the entire bank organization.
- Ensure strategic and delivery alignments along with improvement of reporting, process efficiencies, and overall execution methodologies.
- Provide direction and prioritization of the capacity review/reporting and provide methods and monitoring of PMO practice management leveraged by the Portfolio Delivery teams.
- Recognize and avoid portfolio capacity issues across the lifecycle of the project delivery.
- Ensure alignment with Finance, Contracts, Regulatory, Legal and Compliance as needed per effort scope.
- Monitor the quality of project outputs to ensure strategic objectives and project delivery quality are met.
- Drive portfolio delivery excellence by creating a cohesive portfolio plan that proactively drives to meet the time, scope, and quality.
- Identify and resolve capacity concerns that may lead to project portfolio delivery issues via impact analysis and change control methodologies.
- Provide full IT portfolio metric reporting and visualization to support communication of IT delivery commitments.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the banking or financial industry, IT portfolio or program management.
- Demonstrated competency in creating effective reporting, executive communications, and user adoption / process documentation.
- Proven competency in developing and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex messages to a wide audience.
