Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall performance management of the assigned area and/or camp
Hands-on preparation and oversight of all food service
Management of a camp staff including kitchen, housekeeping, janitor/expeditor and maintenance
Procurement, inventory, and budget management
Function as a primary resource for NMS food service, housekeeping, and maintenance employees
Deliver and track performance to meet key performance indicators
Coach and develop employees
Facilitate and support a “One Team” relationship dynamic within the NMS organization
Develop and implement comprehensive business plans required by assigned activities
Establish and implement an organized system of supervision and formal operating procedures
Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Meet with clients/customers to maintain business relationships, market products, and resolve problems
Lead, direct, and communicate with staff to keep them informed and motivated
Develop operating budget and operate within that budget
Requirements
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Culinary Arts or recognized formal certified training program from a National Association
At least seven (7) years of management experience in service based, hospitality, food service, housekeeping, hotel, or remote camp environments
A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
Ability to instruct and train others
Ability to handle multiple tasks occurring at the same time
Must have or obtain an Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire
Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test
Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients
Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision
Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift
