About the role

  • Investment Analytics Professional analyzing market data and developing actionable insights for Transamerica's investments. Supporting tactical and strategic asset allocation for the $80 billion general account.

Responsibilities

  • Build repeatable models and dashboards for relative-value, scenario, and stress testing across rates, credit, securitized, and alternatives; translate outputs into proposals for rebalancing and risk budgeting.
  • Create analysis and quantify impacts of strategic portfolio changes, taking into consideration peer positioning, long-term market forecasts, risk-return tradeoffs and capital efficiency.
  • Monitor exposures vs. benchmarks/limits; quantify risk/return trade-offs, capital efficiency (e.g., NAIC RBC factors), and contribution to ALM objectives.
  • Partner with product, actuarial, and ALM to supply analytics for pricing, crediting-rate setting, and new-product investment strategies (e.g., RILA/annuity hedging inputs).
  • Own data pipelines from Clearwater/Aladdin/Bloomberg to BI outputs; ensure lineage, quality checks, and documentation.
  • Support projects and one-off investment decisions through on-the-fly report creation and analysis, frequently working with unclear or unknown outcomes.
  • Build crisp exhibits for Investment/TAA Committee—scenarios, heat maps, dashboards, and one-page recommendations.
  • Automate recurring reports, reduce manual steps, and harden controls (validation, reconciliations, peer review).

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in a technical/quantitative discipline, such as finance, economics, operation research, engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or physics, or Bachelor’s degree with CFA or ASA designation
  • Four years of progressive and relevant quantitative experience
  • Front office experience at a bank, hedge fund, asset management firm, or insurance company
  • Working knowledge of Excel, VBA, SQL, Power BI
  • Good understanding of risk methodologies used in banking or insurance industry
  • Communication skills to convey complex information verbally and in writing at the appropriate level of Interpersonal detail for each audience
  • People skills to manage/lead projects and the ability to inspire the team and provide insights to ALM colleagues.
