About the role
- Financial Accountant responsible for month end close, compliance reporting and financial analysis for Australian operations. Collaborating with US teams and ensuring adherence to reporting standards across regions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivery of the month end close process including journal entries, financial reconciliations, preparation and review of management reporting deliverables including US SoX reporting requirements.
- Profit and Loss analysis including trend analysis and cost controlling
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with month end timetable
- Reconciling data to sub-ledgers
- Undertake financial analysis and variance reporting including challenging the business on results and ensuring accurate use of cost channeling principles
- Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
- Responsible for preparing payroll journals and analysing the timesheet costs to ensure accurate financial recording and regulatory compliance
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and key contacts in relation to project cost controls and commercial related matters.
- Assist with delivery of Annual financial close processes and the filing of audited Statutory accounts
- Ensuring the business complies with the US SOX compliance regulations and delivering technical advice to drive business outcomes.
- Support external and internal audit processes and other regulatory reporting requirements
- Maintain controls governing financial reporting processes for compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Accounting
- CPA/CA Accounting
- Independent, highly motivated and dynamic team member and able to demonstrate effective leadership
- Committed to continuous improvement and management of change
- Ability to develop rapport with non-financial savvy audience
- Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills
- Strong oral/written communication skill, including interaction with various business stakeholders
- Excellent team working ability including the ability to help other team members in different areas when required
- Proactive manages own responsibilities and deadlines and committed to completion
- Proficient in using financial applications e.g. SAP, Power BI, Oracle
