About the role

  • Finance & Accounting Senior managing SEC reporting and financial controls at a venture capital firm. Collaborating on valuation processes and enhancing operational efficiencies in Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary owner for maintaining accurate books and records of the SEC Registered debt investment vehicle.
  • Prepare key components of the entity’s SEC filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of periodic financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Collaborate closely with the FAC Manager and SVP Finance to support the quarterly valuation process, including data preparation, analysis, and documentation.
  • Work jointly with finance leadership to design and implement internal controls that ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting.
  • Help drive best practices around operational risk management and process improvements.
  • Partner with the FAC Manager and SVP Finance to build and enhance technology solutions that support the investment vehicle’s operations, accounting, and reporting workflows.
  • Support automation initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, transparency, and data integrity.
  • Act as a key liaison with external auditors, supporting efficient and effective quarterly reviews and the annual audit process.
  • Work closely with the FAC Senior to support the compliance program for the SEC Registered debt investment vehicle, including aspects of RIA compliance and related regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, preferably within asset management, investment vehicles, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP; familiarity with investment company accounting a plus.
  • Experience with SEC reporting and regulatory filings is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems, financial reporting tools, and Excel; experience in building or enhancing technology-enabled processes is a plus.
