About the role

  • Jira/Confluence Administrator managing multi-level security Atlassian suite at Tangram Flex. Ensuring platform stability, security, and knowledge-sharing across teams in engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Platform Administration and Security: Design and maintain complex Jira workflows, screen schemes, and permissions.
  • Configure and optimize Confluence spaces, permissions, and structure (macros, plugins).
  • Manage user accounts, groups, and project roles, conducting regular security audits.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor system health and performance, and manage all platform upgrades.
  • Knowledge Management and Content Strategy: Develop and enforce a content strategy with templates and taxonomies for high-quality knowledge creation in Confluence.
  • Design and implement an intuitive information architecture for easy self-service and information discovery.
  • Champion a knowledge-sharing culture by training users and encouraging SMEs to contribute.
  • Process Improvement and Automation: Implement automation rules in Jira and Confluence to streamline business processes.
  • Integrate the Atlassian suite with other tools using REST APIs and webhooks.
  • Analyze and improve workflows to reduce repetitive questions and speed up onboarding.
  • User Support and Enablement: Act as the primary technical contact for all Jira and Confluence end-user support.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide training and workshops to promote best practices and effective tool usage.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Partner with IT, team leads, and leadership to align platform capabilities with business goals.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives and platform usage.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Security Clearance or held within the last 12 months.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Jira Administrator in an enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience in project management and knowledge management.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with SQL and relational databases.
  • Atlassian Suite: Expert-level knowledge of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence (Cloud and Data Center).
  • JQL: Proficiency in writing custom Jira Query Language for complex filters and dashboards
  • Information Architecture: Solid grasp of content management, and taxonomy design.
  • Scripting & APIs: Familiarity with Groovy, Python, or Bash and experience with REST APIs are highly desirable.
  • Methodologies: Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and ITSM frameworks (ITIL).
  • Excellent skills in communicating with and training both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting DoD or federal government data initiatives.
  • Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (ACP-100 or ACP-120)
  • Other Atlassian or knowledge management certifications are a plus.
