About the role

Responsibilities
- Administer health, welfare, and retirement plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, spending accounts, and voluntary benefits
- Oversee absence management programs
- Assist the Benefits Manager with external vendor and internal teams (HRIS, payroll, HR partners)
- Resolve complex benefit issues and ensure accurate processing of transactions and deductions
- Identify and implement process enhancements
- Audit and reconcile benefit data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data integrity
- Provide guidance on eligibility, plan provisions, and compliance
- Develop and deliver benefit communications, orientations, and open enrollment materials
- Lead or support initiatives such as open enrollment, plan implementations, and system updates
- Prepare reports for audits and filings, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for cost optimization and program improvements
- Ensure adherence to laws and regulations (COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, IRS)
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive benefits administration experience, including health, welfare, retirement plans, and absence management
- Experience with vendor management and open enrollment processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft)
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Understanding of benefits laws and regulations (COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA) and IRS rules for retirement plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information
- Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities
