About the role

  • Disability Payment Administrator assisting clients with health benefits at Sun Life. Processing claims, managing client inquiries, and promoting team accountability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process Plan Member Update Forms and extend disability benefits
  • Assist clients with the CPP/QPP application process
  • Follow up with clients regarding part-time earnings
  • Prepare and close LTD (Long-Term Disability) files upon expiry
  • Review and update Power of Attorney and authorization information
  • Manage address and EFT (electronic funds transfer) changes
  • Investigate returned mail
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls
  • Foster an environment that promotes team member accountability and autonomy
  • Represent Sun Life professionally, both internally and externally, and collaborate effectively with partners and clients
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills with a client-first approach
  • Demonstrated active listening skills with Plan Members and Plan Sponsors
  • Exceptional time management and organizational abilities
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
  • Proactive, able to take initiative and exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrated resilience when taking on new responsibilities or handling difficult situations
  • Commitment to and enthusiasm for continuous learning — viewing each challenge as an opportunity for growth
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Bilingual (French and English, oral and written) required for Quebec to respond to calls from English- and French-speaking clients across Canada and worldwide
