About the role

  • Technical Buyer responsible for procurement and supplier collaboration in a leading steel specialist company. Optimizing processes and ensuring quality in procurement operations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the interface for technical details between suppliers and internal technical departments
  • Close collaboration with engineering/design and project management to optimize processes
  • Timely procurement of parts, assemblies and services in the required quality
  • Responsible for tendering, commercial preparation and evaluation of offers
  • Support and participation in supplier negotiations
  • Purchase order issuance and delivery schedule monitoring
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the supplier and product portfolio
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and improvement opportunities
  • Supplier support and on-site quality review meetings

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or business administration, or a technical qualification with additional commercial training
  • Ideally, experience in technical procurement/purchasing
  • Assertiveness, decisiveness and a confident demeanor in negotiations
  • Team player with strong communication skills and initiative
  • Solution-oriented working style
  • Negotiation-level German and confident English communication skills
