About the role
- Technical Buyer responsible for procurement and supplier collaboration in a leading steel specialist company. Optimizing processes and ensuring quality in procurement operations.
Responsibilities
- Act as the interface for technical details between suppliers and internal technical departments
- Close collaboration with engineering/design and project management to optimize processes
- Timely procurement of parts, assemblies and services in the required quality
- Responsible for tendering, commercial preparation and evaluation of offers
- Support and participation in supplier negotiations
- Purchase order issuance and delivery schedule monitoring
- Contribute to the strategic development of the supplier and product portfolio
- Identify and implement cost-saving and improvement opportunities
- Supplier support and on-site quality review meetings
Requirements
- Degree in engineering or business administration, or a technical qualification with additional commercial training
- Ideally, experience in technical procurement/purchasing
- Assertiveness, decisiveness and a confident demeanor in negotiations
- Team player with strong communication skills and initiative
- Solution-oriented working style
- Negotiation-level German and confident English communication skills
