About the role

  • Data Analyst III at Snap Finance leads complex analyses to drive business insights and decision-making. Focuses on data integrity and collaboration across departments for strategic outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex analyses that identify root causes of business issues and quantify financial or operational impact
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches and defined outputs
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards, recurring reporting, and data models that support cross-functional decision-making
  • Evaluate short-term performance trends while identifying longer-term implications of business decisions
  • Recommend improvements to reporting processes, data quality, and analytical workflows within the team
  • Partner with stakeholders across departments (e.g., Operations, Finance, Product, Risk, Marketing) to define KPIs and success metrics
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and propose alternative hypotheses when reviewing business performance
  • Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, driving alignment and consensus
  • Independently manage multiple priorities with minimal day-to-day oversight
  • Contribute to analytics best practices, documentation standards, and scalable solution design
  • Contribute to exploring the future of Analytics by vetting, testing, and implementing Agentic BI Tools (AI Analytics)
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive benchmarks, and emerging analytical tools that may create advantage
  • Ensure data integrity by validating inputs, testing outputs, and documenting logic and assumptions
  • Support leadership with ad hoc analysis that informs tactical decisions and resource allocation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, OR PhD without experience
  • Demonstrated competency in SQL is required and proficiency in at least one analytics/programming language (e.g., Python, R)
  • Must be a power-user in Excel (vlookup, xlookup, pivot tables, charts, etc.)
  • Strong experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and data visualization best practices
  • Proven ability to break down complex problems into structured components and deliver actionable solutions
  • Strong judgment in selecting appropriate analytical methods based on context and data constraints
  • Experience working across teams and influencing without formal authority
  • Clear and confident communicator who can tailor insights to different audiences
  • Solid understanding of business drivers and how analytics supports revenue, cost control, risk management, or customer experience
  • Ability to anticipate downstream impacts of decisions and surface trade-offs
  • Comfortable operating with general direction on new initiatives and little supervision on day-to-day execution
  • Demonstrated history of recommending and implementing process improvements
  • Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to documentation and validation
