About the role

  • Expansion Manager driving strategic partnerships and market expansion for B2B retail marketplace. Energizing cross-functional teams and enhancing commercial success in new regions.

Responsibilities

  • Market Discovery & Strategy: Research and map partner and retailer ecosystems in new regions
  • Identify where smatch can win and craft actionable market-entry insights
  • Partnership Building: Drive outreach, run qualification calls, and build strong relationships with local partners
  • Negotiate and close collaboration agreements that enable market launch
  • Help partners activate and grow their retailer pipelines
  • Deal Enablement & Operations: Support Jobbers (our local commercial freelancers) in building supply-demand pipelines
  • Work with Operations & Finance to ensure smooth delivery and successful pilots
  • Monitor early performance and identify bottlenecks to solve quickly
  • Commercial Outcomes: Contribute directly to large revenue deals and the early commercial success of new regions
  • Influence how smatch scales internationally through your learnings and market insights

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or similar
  • First experience (0 - 2 years) in business development, expansion (e.g. internship or working-student role), or consulting
  • Analytical and commercially minded - you understand how value is created
  • Comfortable working across cultures and spending time with partners on-site
  • Excellent English skills; other languages are a strong plus - especially French, Spanish, or Portuguese
  • Confident user of Google Workspace and Excel/Sheets
  • Structured communicator with ownership and persistence
  • Nice to have: Experience in marketplaces, fashion, or wholesale environments
  • Familiarity with Incoterms or factoring
