About the role

  • Risk Manager responsible for risk reporting and analytics infrastructure at Fidelity Investments. Liaising between Corporate Services Technology and Business Unit Risk & Compliance community to enhance reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • The Risk Manager, Reporting, Analytics and Data Management is responsible for enhancing and maintaining the underlying risk reporting and analytics infrastructure employed by various risk groups across the firm.
  • Act as a liaison between the Corporate Services Technology Group and end-users in the Enterprise and Business Unit (BU) Risk & Compliance community to ensure that the objectives of both groups are being met.
  • Help to maintain the oversight process that allows data to be incorporated into the environment in a secure, yet readily available manner.
  • Key resource providing support for existing reports and development of new reporting.
  • Drive down the cost of reporting by employing new and existing technology and by removing the need for systems resources for development of most reports.
  • Improve the quality and reliability of risk data through consolidation.
  • Improve the experience of end-users through improved data availability and integration of the environment with their preferred tools.
  • Enable the growth of analytics by providing an environment where new data can be ingested and shared throughout the user community while maintaining appropriate controls.
  • Improve the efficiency of existing reports, simplify the development process for new reports and enable self-service by sophisticated users. Provide support as needed to end-users.
  • Improve the availability and quality of data in support of a growing analytics & AI community.
  • Provide support for Data Governance processes.
  • Continually engage the business user community to understand needs and provide solutions to problems that might not otherwise be addressed.

Requirements

  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience with database technology (Snowflake, Oracle, etc.) and ETL processes
  • Expertise in SQL and familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
  • 3+ years in a reporting or data analytics role
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Practices
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Technology, Business, or a related field of study
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building and influence skills
  • Excellent skills in communication, analysis, and problem-solving
  • Desire to remain continually aware of the changing technical landscape and its impact on the risk data environment
