About the role

  • Assistant Financial Controller managing financial operations and compliance for affiliates. Collaborating with financial teams to ensure accurate reporting and controls while supporting audits and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and consolidating monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Assist GL Accountant with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reconcile bank statements and report discrepancies to the Financial Controller.
  • Preparing journal entries including cash receipts, inter-company transfers, and payroll.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable for accuracy and timely deliverables.
  • Prepare and assist with audits including but not limited to year-end audit, governmental audits, state audits, and insurance audits.
  • Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Providing leadership, training, and development to the accounting staff.
  • Guide and assist divisions by communicating current accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain internal controls and procedures.
  • Assists in ERP conversion/implementation testing and participation in training sessions.
  • Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum five years of work experience as a Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager.
  • Experience with preparation of financial statements.
  • Experience in general ledger functions and month end close process.
  • Experience working for a general contractor or subcontractor in the construction industry is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to proof one’s own work as well as the work of others.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience with CMIC strongly preferred.
