About the role

  • HSE Manager responsible for health, safety, and environmental standards at a bakery in Bocholt. Ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in a modern family-run business.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility and first point of contact for all occupational safety, health and environmental protection matters
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and company-specific requirements relating to occupational safety, health and environmental protection
  • Continuous development of the existing safety management system including the development, implementation, monitoring and optimization of health, occupational safety and environmental standards
  • Principal contact for authorities, statutory accident insurance institutions (Berufsgenossenschaft), insurers and other external organizations, in coordination with the relevant departments
  • Advising management and supervisors on all HSE-related matters
  • Training and development of employees on health, occupational safety and environmental topics
  • Planning, conducting and documenting internal safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and develop preventive measures
  • Preparation of health, safety and environmental documentation such as HSE reports; development of KPIs and statistics; reporting on risk analyses and verifications; creation and further development of work instructions, operating procedures, process instructions and risk assessments
  • Reviewing changes in legislation and standards to assess their relevance and implementation requirements for the company
  • Planning and conducting occupational safety committee (ASA) meetings

Requirements

  • University degree, e.g. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualification/training
  • Certification as an occupational safety specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit)
  • Several years of professional experience in occupational safety
  • Strong IT skills; proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Systematic working style combined with strong communication skills
  • Leadership-oriented personality with a high level of commitment
  • Willingness to continuously develop professionally and assume responsibility
  • Flexible and able to perform under pressure
  • Enjoys working in a team
