About the role

  • GCP FinOps Practitioner managing financial governance and budget allocation across Salesforce's Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, ensuring accurate reporting and informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the GCP budget allocation process across multiple business units, ensuring alignment with annual operating plans and strategic initiatives.
  • Track, monitor, and report on budget consumption against allocated spend limits, flagging variances and potential overruns to stakeholders proactively.
  • Design and govern the models for showback and chargeback, defining the methodologies and policies to accurately attribute costs to the correct teams, products, or cost centers using effective resource labeling/tagging strategies.
  • Partner with Finance to reconcile GCP invoices against internal budget splits, ensuring financial integrity and resolving discrepancies.
  • Generate and distribute regular, high-level financial reports focusing on cost allocation, budget status, and consumption trends for executive review.
  • Define and document the internal processes for budget change requests, forecasting adjustments, and new resource deployment approvals from a cost perspective.
  • Champion the cultural shift toward financial accountability by communicating allocation policies and reporting methodologies across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a FinOps, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or Cost Management role, specifically within a technology or cloud environment.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) billing concepts (e.g., Projects, Billing Accounts, Committed Use Discounts, Billing Exports).
  • Expertise in managing and reconciling large, complex technology budgets, focusing on allocation, chargeback design, and accurate forecasting.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday).
  • Exceptional communication and partnership skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with both Finance stakeholders and technical product owners.
  • A related technical degree required.
