About the role
- Legal Specialist providing expert consultancy in corporate law at Sabesp, enhancing regulatory compliance and governance practices in São Paulo. Transforming lives through essential services in sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized legal advisory services, conducting in-depth research and analysis on Corporate Law and Civil Law matters.
- Draft, review and oversee various corporate instruments, including bylaws, minutes, articles of association/ incorporation, shareholders' agreements and other strategic corporate documents.
- Work directly on regulatory compliance matters related to publicly listed companies, particularly regarding requirements of the CVM (Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission) and B3 (Brazilian Stock Exchange).
- Support the management of corporate routines for publicly listed companies and their investees, ensuring regulatory compliance and adoption of best governance practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law with active membership in the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
- Advanced English (full fluency is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience in Corporate Law.
- At least 2 years' prior experience in publicly listed companies, with strong knowledge of CVM regulatory matters and corporate governance.
- Experience with publicly listed companies that also have shares listed/traded on the NYSE is a plus.
- Postgraduate degree or specialization in Corporate Law, Capital Markets or M&A is highly valued.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proactivity, organization and the ability to operate in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation skills and ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
