Responsibilities
Advising on domestic and international VAT-related legal and commercial matters, in particular in supply chain management and in M&A transactions
Project management and client support, e.g., conducting VAT reviews, preparing VAT manuals, leading workshops, and drafting and reviewing VAT opinions in German and English
Correspondence with tax authorities and collaboration with international colleagues from the International VAT Group on roll-outs related to business transactions
Reviewing VAT returns, periodic filings and registrations
Supporting tax audits, VAT special audits and requests for information at national and international levels
Clarifying fundamental legal issues before national and European courts
Managing VAT corrections and adjustments
Requirements
Degree in law or business administration or equivalent qualification, ideally with a professional qualification (e.g., tax advisor, lawyer)
Solid knowledge of domestic and international tax law and several years of experience in VAT law
Experience in managing VAT projects is an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong proficiency in English and MS Office
