Sales Manager expanding Rocky Talkie's market presence in outdoor retail and commercial channels. Leadership role combining hands-on selling with strategic growth initiatives in backcountry communication.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve company revenue goals — translating high-level plans into actionable territory and account tactics for the team.
Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales representatives to ensure a strong understanding of products and customer needs, and achieve sales targets.
Recruit, onboard, and support independent sales reps.
Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, sharing regular reports and insights with the leadership team.
Serve as a lead outside sales representative, managing a portfolio of accounts.
Identify new opportunities and expand market presence through active prospecting and relationship building.
Conduct regular store visits and sales calls to maintain and grow customer relationships.
Negotiate and close sales deals with retail partners and distributors.
Identify and attend key trade shows and industry events that align with company goals, representing Rocky Talkie and building new relationships.
Seek out and represent Rocky Talkie at networking events and customer meetings.
Work closely with Marketing on promotions, collateral, and trade show execution.
Partner with Operations on inventory planning, fulfillment, and account onboarding.
Gather market feedback and share insights on pricing, packaging, and product features to inform our product roadmap.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
5+ years of sales experience, including managing independent sales reps.
Proven success selling in the outdoor industry and/or commercial channels (e.g., industrial safety, construction, first responders), including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Aptitude and commitment to develop a deep understanding of our products’ technical features, performance, and use cases — and translate that expertise into clear, compelling value for customers across diverse markets.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to assemble and analyze data, draw insights, and develop data-driven action plans for growth.
Passionate about the outdoors and excited by the opportunity to shape the future of an authentic backcountry brand.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
