About the role

  • New Business Development Manager focused on net-new client acquisition for HBI. Requires strong networking and lead generation skills with a background in contract furniture and design.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and secure new opportunities within the contract furniture, design, and workplace interiors industries.
  • Proactively prospect through cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, Networking events, and industry associations (e.g., IFMA, BOMA, CCA etc).
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads using structured prospecting strategies and CRM tools.
  • Conduct discovery meetings and needs analyses to understand client goals, challenges, workplace strategy, budgets, timelines, and decision‑making processes.
  • Prepare and deliver consultative proposals and tailored solutions in coordination with internal teams tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Manage longer, consultive, project‑based sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and decision‑makers.
  • Transition qualified opportunities to Account Managers for execution and long term care and satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision‑makers and influencers in the A&D community, 3rd party management, corporate real estate, general contractors, and development firms.
  • Represent HBI at trade shows, industry events, and networking functions to enhance visibility.
  • Maintain accurate lead, client, and opportunity records in CRM systems; Provide regular sales pipeline reports and insights to the VP of Sales.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in new business development, network connection, outside, or consultative B2B sales
  • Proven history of prospecting, qualifying, and closing new opportunities
  • Confidence with cold calls, digital outreach, and networking
  • Experience managing longer project‑based sales involving multiple stakeholders
  • Established network of industry contacts and relationships (e.g., within the A&D, real estate, general contractors, consultants, and corporate business communities) that can be leveraged to generate new opportunities
  • Industry experience in contract furniture, interiors, architecture, or construction (preferred)
