About the role

  • Retail & Market Access Manager in global biopharmaceutical firm. Focused on market access strategies and partnerships for biosimilars in France.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed the country’s sales targets while supporting the broader commercial team in achieving its objectives.
  • Develop and execute a country-wide market access plan in collaboration with the Country Manager and the EU tender department to ensure portfolio availability.
  • Drive the commercial success of biosimilars in the retail pharmacy market by negotiating with, partnering with, and influencing key stakeholders across the distribution and retail ecosystem.
  • Map, engage and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including wholesalers, pharmacy groups (VTO), GPO buyers, payers, decision-makers, trade organizations and KOLs.
  • Lead negotiations with wholesalers and pharmacy networks to secure product listings, agreements and inclusion in optimal distribution channels.
  • Identify new business opportunities and prepare business cases to maximize local value.
  • Establish and strengthen strategic partnerships that support product uptake and competitive positioning, including contributing to substitution strategies for biosimilars.
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitive activity and regulatory developments to inform strategy and maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Support advocacy and policy initiatives to promote the value, sustainability and broader adoption of biosimilars.

Requirements

  • Scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc, etc.)
  • Proven track record in retail market access / pharmacy market access.
  • Proven experience in companies commercializing biosimilars, generics or substitutable prescription medicines.
  • Practical experience negotiating with wholesalers, pharmacy groups (VTO) and retail distribution networks.
  • Demonstrated success in product launches within the retail sector, with a comprehensive understanding of the value chain.
  • Strong knowledge of the French regulatory framework regarding pricing, rebates and commercial terms for prescription medicines.
  • Strategic vision with a medium- to long-term perspective on the evolution of the retail market.
  • Political acumen and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Experience in advocacy and policy development to support biosimilar adoption.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent command of French with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills; proficiency in English is highly desirable.
