About the role

  • Role responsible for policies and training of shipboard inventory team in hospitality management. Focuses on efficient supply chain movement and best practices across the fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Develops implements and maintains inventory control policy and procedures to ensure efficient movement of goods throughout the entire supply chain process with specific focus to the shipboard operational aspects.
  • Travels to the ships to assess compliance with and provide constant training of policies and procedures.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and creates action and development plans for personnel.
  • Responsible for identifying best practices within each ship and building on the individual initiatives so that they may be introduced as fleet wide initiatives and across brands.
  • Tracks and prepares key performance metrics and benchmark items relating to inventory planning and forecasting.
  • Assists with the annual budgeting by providing historical data, analysis, and gathering/ presenting shipboard insight into areas of potential concern or issue for the coming fiscal/ financial periods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in accounting, finance, hospitality management, business administration, or related field or the international equivalent preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in supply chain management.
  • 4-7 years experience in statistics, business modeling, or forecasting.
  • Position has travel averaging 5 to 10 percent of the time.

  • Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing, with department heads, managers, coworkers, shipboard employees and/or vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
  • Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.
