About the role

  • Quality Analyst developing quality plans and ensuring compliance for naval shipbuilding projects. Engaging with engineering and manufacturing teams for project oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.
  • Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
  • Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.
  • Responsible for audits and certifications for VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA Class submarines for the Special Emphasis (SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS) Programs for the SUBSAFE Program Office at NNS.
  • Be the SUBSAFE Program representative and point-of-contact during audit and certification events, and will speak on behalf of the NNS to external agencies.
  • Responsible for reviewing audit card responses prior to submittal to the government for approval in support of certification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience
  • One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
