  • Culinary Recruiter responsible for delivering an efficient hiring process for shipboard culinary positions. Collaborating with operational stakeholders to attract and hire global culinary talent for a leading vacation-industry leader.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivering an efficient and effective hiring process for shipboard culinary positions
  • Oversees requisition management and full-cycle candidate selection to ensure seamless recruiting experience
  • Develops and executes sourcing strategies, manages pipelines, and provides market insights to leadership to support informed decision-making
  • Leverages available resources to attract, identify, screen, and hire top global culinary talent
  • Continuously evaluates and improves recruiting processes to enhance efficiency, quality of hire, and overall candidate experience
  • Sources, screens, and interviews candidates for all positions within assigned business units, including support for special projects, high-volume roles, and emerging talent
  • Partners with hiring managers to review and understand forecast talent needs and responds effectively to just-in-time hiring requests
  • Engages stakeholders to define job requirements and applicant qualifications, ensuring alignment to a consistent set of criteria established at the start of the hiring process
  • Determines recruiting requirements by reviewing organizational plans and objectives and consulting with managers regarding shipboard staffing needs
  • Evaluates and selects top talent through direct sourcing and various recruitment channels to meet departmental and vessel workforce demands
  • Achieves hiring targets and key performance metrics by regularly reviewing productivity reports to assess the effectiveness of recruiting strategies and processes
  • Monitors current labor market trends and adjusts sourcing approaches to ensure continued competitiveness
  • Interviews candidates to assess their adaptability and suitability for the shipboard environment
  • Utilizes competency-based interviewing to evaluate candidates and provides hiring recommendations to managers and fellow recruiters; may make hiring decisions for select entry-level roles
  • Supports hiring managers with interview scheduling and coordination as needed
  • Ensures each candidate receives an accurate and complete job description during the hiring process
  • Communicates job offers to select candidates in accordance with company standards and policies
  • Travels domestically and internationally to support recruitment events as required
  • Uses reporting tools and dashboards to monitor productivity, candidate flow, and overall effectiveness of shipboard recruiting
  • Prepares a variety of reports, including status updates, talent search summaries, and analyses of talent pools and gap areas for shipboard roles
  • Manages personal workflow and maintains documentation in compliance with recruitment SOPs, company policies, and audit requirements
  • Minimizes legal risk across multiple markets by staying informed on relevant employment legislation, adhering to regulations, recommending procedural updates, and conducting training when necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources and/or business administration from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant recruitment experience required
  • Relevant recruitment experience, preferably in Hospitality industry preferred
  • Experience in high volume/bulk recruiting a plus
  • Cruise industry experience preferred
  • Proven ability to source, interview and screen candidates (management, specialty and high-volume roles)
  • Demonstrated capability to recruit positions in various levels of the organization (entry to senior level)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply judgments to ambiguous or out-of-policy situations; attention to detail and the ability to deal appropriately with confidential information
  • Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with candidates within established guidelines
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and requisitions simultaneously
  • Strong project management and time management skills required
  • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing, to gather and relay information in a multinational environment consisting of department heads, managers, and coworkers
  • Ability to productively work under tight time constraints with competing priorities and potentially stressful situations
  • Working knowledge of accepted human resources recruitment practices; ability to acquire knowledge of recruitment processes in various countries
  • Knowledge of world geography, time differences and demographic
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, and shipboard employees.
